John is North Sea Reporter's Editor and analyst specialising in rig market and UK drilling activity. His oil industry career began in 1975 at the Department of Energy after which he joined Chevron in 1981. At Chevron he worked within the exploration department and closely with the New Venture and Commercial teams. After 17 years at Chevron he took up freelance rolls with FT North Sea Letter and at Hannon Westwood. In 2003 he joined IHS Energy as regional manager for Australasia. John rejoined North Sea Letter in October 2005 and stayed until Platts ceased publication in December 2008.

Meg is Editor of North Sea Reporter and has been writing about the North Sea oil and gas industry for many years. She started her career with the Financial Times group in 1980 as a reporter on North Sea Letter. Later she became Editor of sister publication World Solar Markets before rejoining NSL first as Deputy Editor and then Editor from 1991 until December 2008 when Platts ceased publication. During Meg's tenure as Editor, North Sea Letter was awarded the prestigious ONS Media Prize. Meg has contributed to other publications, including FT Surveys and FT Energy World, and was author of the FT Guide to North Sea Operators and FT Guide to North Sea Operators and Participants.
